This month we are fundraising in Memory of Calvin Davey, a past pupil of Brays who sadly passed away earlier this year.
To raise money, children and staff at Brays School are taking on a sponsored Swim challenge. They will be attempting to swim the distance of the English Channel over the next few weeks – that’s 21 miles!
All the money raised will go to the charity DEBRA The “butterfly skin” condition charity of which Calvin was a sufferer of. The charity aims to support people living with the rare genetic skin condition, Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), which causes the skin to blister and is extremely painful. Your money would help fund the research into developing treatments and hopefully a cure(s) for this terrible condition. You can learn more here: debra.org.uk/
Children will participate in their normal swimming lessons over the coming weeks and try to complete as many lengths as they can whilst participating in games and relays.
Our staff team has volunteered to swim half the overall distance of 10.5 miles (16900 metres) on Friday 14th July at Fox Hollies Leisure Centre.
You can support us by donating online to our Just giving page:

Any donation, however small, will be greatly received by the charity as they try to find a cure and alleviate the suffering of this debilitating skin condition.
We wish to Thank you in advance for your support and wish the children and staff the best of luck with this swimming challenge – you’re amazing!
